What Data We Collect

• ·Email addresses submitted through our signup form (processed via Formspree).
• ·Basic analytics data (page views, referral source, device type, country, time spent on the site, and which pages you move through in a visit) collected through privacy-friendly analytics. This data is anonymized and not tied to your identity.
• ·Whatever you enter into the quiz, budget planner, admission chance estimator, profile, and timeline. This is stored only in your own browser and is never sent to us.

Why We Collect It

• ·Email addresses: to notify you about product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@exchasia.com.
• ·Analytics: to understand how visitors use the site and improve the experience.

Legal bases: we process your email address on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by submitting the signup form and can withdraw at any time. We process analytics data on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Data Stored in Your Browser

The quiz, budget planner, admission chance estimator, exchange plan, and timeline save your entries locally in your browser so your work is still there when you come back. This can include your field of study, home university, grade average, budget range, and planned departure date.

This data stays on your device. It is not transmitted to us, it is not part of our analytics, and we cannot see it. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for exchasia.com.

Third Parties

Formspree (processes our signup form, servers in the USA). Brevo (stores our mailing list and sends our emails, servers in the EU). Vercel (hosting and basic analytics, servers in the USA and EU). We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to any other third parties.

International Transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside Switzerland and the EU, in particular in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the providers' certification under the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework or by standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

We use no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies. Our analytics identify visits anonymously without storing anything on your device. The planning tools described above use your browser's local storage to save your own entries, which is necessary for those features to work and never leaves your device.

Your Rights

You have the right to request access to your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive it in a portable format, and to object to processing. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time, which does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). If you are in the EU, you can complain to the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.
